As a Boise Photographer who specializes in maternity, newborn and family, every season comes with the same question. Where are the best spots to take photos? Let me show you some of my favorite springtime locations in the Treasure Valley
Hulls Gulch Trailhead
As a Boise Photographer, this trail is perfect for couples, families, and especially those that have little explorers! There is plenty of space to run and play and a diverse selection of backgrounds. From green grassy fields, to neutral mountain backdrops and pops of white and yellow flowers.
Kathryn Albertsons
This is a great option for shorter more focused sessions. While still providing a variety of backgrounds, it is an enclosed space with little need to go far. This location is more populated, so be prepared and try to find your favorite spots prior to booking a session. A favorite of mine for Maternity and Newborn sessions in Boise.
Local Flower Farms
Everybody loves a flower farm! We are lucky to have a great list of flower vendors and farmers in Idaho. If you are looking to be surrounded by bunches of colorful flowers this is a great choice. Prior to your session, you'll want to do research on which farm you'd like to visit and what their rules are for photography. Keep in mind that to reserve a spot for professional photo sessions, most farms do charge an additional fee. I love photographing Maternity & Family sessions among the flowers.
Reid Merrill Park
Perfect for families that are looking to create an experience to go along with their photo session. This nature trail sits right beside a large playground and is located next to some great places to eat. As a mom myself, I know that occasional bribery works wonders.

Backyard gardening, baking fresh cookies, or a messy painting session are all great ways to connect while still creating the photos you are looking to decorate your home with!
